Morning Motivation- Thursday

Good morning Successmates, These recent times have been proven to be for the tough alone. It hits us so hard sometimes that we almost topple over. The pandemic, office deadlines, traffic jam and all. How do we survive these? I have put together some little bits that might help us on our day-to-day journey. Sit back and soak in everything. Please drop your ideas in the comments box. Enjoy! There are so many things in life that are beyond our control. Rather than getting stressed out over them, focus on the things you can control such as the way you choose to react to problems.Look for the upside.  When facing major challenges, try to view them as opportunities for personal growth. If your own poor choices contributed to your current situation, reflect on them and learn from your mistakes. Learn to forgive. Accept the fact that we live in an imperfect world and that people make mistakes. Free yourself from negative energy by forgiving and moving on. Share your feelings. Express...

Morning Motivation- Thursday

Good Morning! Today's post is a continuation of yesterday's. If you missed it, check this link:   How To Deal With A Bad Boss 1. Get certain you're dealing with a bad boss Make sure it's not you that's the problem, that you're not delivering below standard. Find out if there's a reason for their behavior and check yourself to know if you're not being too hard on them. For the next few days, observe. 2. Find out what makes your boss tick What do you do that sets them off? Why do they get into a rage? Establish that it's not work or the working environment. 3. Identify their motivation Why do they care about certain things much more than others? This could give you an insight into their leadership style. 4. Make sure it doesn't affect your work No matter how badly your boss' behaves, do not let it affect your work.  Stay on good terms with your colleagues and your other leaders in the organization. Do not spread a bad word. Remember, whatever n...

Morning Motivation -Wednesday

Today, we're addressing the first part of this issue— how to cope with a toxic boss. Read on. In our study, we have found that companies pump billions of money into the acquisition of managerial and leadership skills for their key players.  Shocking to say, that there's still a large number of bad bosses. One in every two employees says their boss is bad but they still stay and work in thee organization. Why? Job security! Gina's story: Gina should have smelt the coffee the minute she stepped into the interview room. One of her interviewers had made a snide remark about her behind or lack of one. That was a red flag but she didn't see it. She smiled and responded cordially. Working in the organization now (three years later), she sees that she made a huge mistake ignoring the warning signs at the beginning.  As fate would have it, she now works directly under the man who made the snide comment. She says he is a bully and a taskmaster who derives joy in picking on his s...

Morning Motivation -Tuesday

Good morning Achievers! Hope your sleep was sweet? This morning, we'll be dissecting one major enemy of our success— complacency. We'll be looking at it's roots and how to deal with it. Enjoy! Com`pla`cen`cy A  feeling  of  contented  self-satisfaction, especially when  unaware  of  upcoming trouble . Be it in business, academics, finance or any other aspect, this is a feeling that kicks in and we must contend with it, if we're going to continue succeeding. Let me explain: Most times, we become complacent just after a big victory. We feel like we have accomplished a hard task and we let ourselves loose a little. Complacency is one enemy of further success. It leaves you comfortable and satisfied with your current level, not wanting to reach for more. From the definition, we are made to see how dangerous it is for one to be complacent. It says there that it keeps you in the dark about looming trouble. The trouble you do not know about, how ...

Morning Motivation- Friday

Good morning Champions, Here's the concluding part of our series on the attributes of love. I hope you have been following? If you missed the last, you can check the link: https://chuksofficial.blogspot.com/2020/08/morning-motivation-thursday_13.html Attributes of Love 1. Doesn’t revel when others grovel : Do you take pleasure in the sufferings and downfall of others? Are you happy when it's someone else who's failing? If yes, then, you need to check your love tank. It's running out of "love gas". Be happy when you win, but, also commiserate with the person who lost. You might just be the inspiration they need to get up. 2. Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth:  Doesn't seek to hide the truth. I have learned that no matter how bad the truth may seem, it is better told. It is like a salve. Although it might sting a little, it does more good to the individual than a lie. Remember, a lie is a lie, no matter the cloak you wear it.   3. Puts up with anyth...

Morning Motivation- Thursday

Good morning! Hope your week is going fine? Today, I have some nice quotes for you.  They are: 1. "Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life--think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success." --Swami Vivekananda 2. "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them." --Walt Disney 3. "Good things come to people who wait, but better things come to those who go out and get them." --Anonymous 4. "If you do what you always did, you will get what you always got." --Anonymous 5. "Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm." --Winston Churchill 6. "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was ending, he turned into a butterfly." --Proverb 7. "Successful entrepreneurs are givers and not takers of positive energy." --Anonymous 8. ...

Morning Motivation- Monday

Mark was always one of the smartest kids in his class. He’s done well in his career, but when he checks Facebook, he sees people he outperformed at school who have now achieved more. Likewise, there are colleagues at his firm who have leapfrogged him. Sometimes he wonders, “What am I doing wrong?” Sound familiar? You might relate to Mark yourself, or have an employee or loved one who struggles with similar feelings. Raw intelligence is undoubtedly a huge asset, but it isn’t everything. And sometimes, when intellectually gifted people don’t achieve as much as they’d like to, it’s because they’re subtly undermining themselves. If you’re in this situation, the good news is that when you understand these foibles you can turn them around. Here are five I’ve seen smart people particularly struggle with: 1. Smart people sometimes devalue other skills, like relationship building, and over-concentrate on intellect.  Very smart people sometimes see their success as inevitable because ...

Morning Motivation- Thursday

Good morning dears,  Today, we're continuing the series we started on the attributes of love.  For a recap, here's the link: https://chuksofficial.blogspot.com/2020/08/good-morning-people-this-morning-im.html The four bits for this week are: 1. Doesn’t force itself on others: There are 7billion people, each with unique minds. You're just as special as the next person. Why then do you want to impose your will and override the other person's? If you want people to do something, you make them buy into your idea. That way, they pursue it as they would their own goal.   2. Isn’t always “me first":  You want to be satisfied first every time. That's a bad habit. It's a signal that something is wrong on the inside. What if you don't come first? One needs to learn how to handle rejection.   3. Doesn’t fly off the handle: This talks about self-control. Have you ever been in a situation where you are so pissed and irritated? Did you get yourself in control of your...

Morning Motivation- Monday

The little things that you think don't matter actually do. If you add a touch of excellence into every bit, you can tell your outcome. Strive today to add an extra effort into that ordinary task. Good morning!

Morning Motivation-Thursday

Good morning people, How's everything at your end? Here's a subtle reminder on keeping your joy. I hope you do have a nice day. Much love!

Morning Motivation- Wednesday

Good Morning People, This morning, I'm addressing a key aspect of our living— Love! Many at times, when we broach this subject— love your neighbor, love yourself, love your job, etc.,we look at it from one supernormal angle.  Here's a simplified view of it. It is broken down for easy understanding and identification. Characteristics of Love 1. Love never gives up:  It still finds a way to get up in the morning and get going. It extends another arm.  Love not only tries, it tries again. A Japanese proverb says; "If I fall seven times, I stand up eight". 2. Love cares more for others than for self:  This keeps you in check even as a leader. It doesn't mean you don't care for yourself, just that you are not all self-centered. From time to time, we might need to get out of our comfort zone just to help.   3. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have:  This is self-control and contentment. Of course, it doesn't mean that you shouldn't strive for excellence. Th...

Morning Motivation- Tuesday

Good morning! I have here five steps that should help you deliver optimally, be it at the office or in your personal space. Let's call them the 5-Rs. They are: 1. Rehearse  A great day starts from the night before. Just before you zoom off to sleep, drink a cup of water.  Set  out a list of things you want to accomplish, taking note of the most important. What this does is that it sets the brain in the mood, even while you're asleep. 2. Refresh There is need for organs to refresh themselves; to take off the stress from the previous day and prepare themselves for the day ahead. All we need do is sleep, and sleep well (5-6hours at the least). What happens when we sleep is that the body tries to reset itself. 3.Routine Develop a daily routine. An easy one is;  Taking a glass of water as soon as you step out of bed, Committing your day in prayer, Read a page of a book (at least), Light exercises (aerobics). 4. Review Go over your plans for the day. Doing this, your brain...

Friday Post

It is Fri-yay! How has your week been? Please tell me about it in the comment section. As you already can tell, mine has been full to the brim with activities—from preparation for my journey to the actual journey, (I traveled home). It is at the tip of my tongue to say that I have been longing for this day. How did Friday get to have that feel? Maybe it is because it signals the end of the week. In most offices, their staff are free to dress almost as they like as long as it is decent. The companies recognize that their employees have been working throughout the week. Hence, the need to give them a little break from the conventional.  Before now, Fridays in Lagos were days when entertainment spots gained more customers than they would on every other day of the week. There was the life of the party—there was always a party to attend on Friday evenings. There was also the life of the Church goers—vigils and prayer meetings. Whichever category you belong, I know that you miss your Fri...

Sunday Coolspot-1

It's Sunday! The beginning of a new week. How did your last week go? Did you smash those goals or...(LOL). What's in for this week? Anyway, I have some cool gist for you this evening.Relax, get a cup of this sweet juice. You'll need to sip it while reading through (smiles).  Top of the gist is one that's been trending for a while now. The one that's got to do with a guy in a foreign land whose clothes we're about to auction. Yes we're opening flea market (okrika) with his properties (LOL).  If you need me to spell the gist out to you, I will. I'm talking about the leader of the recent cybercrimes and fraud. He's popular. A celebrity infact! The first letter of his nickname is the eighth letter of the English alphabet (you didn't hear it from me).  According to the police, he has defrauded almost 2million people. The amount of money he has fraudulently acquired is in billi-billi (billions). I can't say how he did it because that gist is too h...

Morning Motivation- Tuesday

I learnt a key lesson on dedication and diligence from the sun. I'll be kind to share today. I doubt that there is anyone who is as dedicated as the sun. If it were to be given awards, it'd collect several. When it's turn comes to shine, it shines. It doesn't go about whining and complaining about how that it shone all week, it just shines.  Sometimes, we need to suck all the excuses in and just get on with our jobs. Do what you do and do it well. Good morning! . . . . #motivational #motivation #success
